How to Use the Predecessor Operations Function?

In this article, you will learn what operation predecessors are and how to use them.

Production orders for which the previous operation has not yet been completed are marked in dark color on the production schedule. For example, until a worker in Cutting completes their work, workers in Folding will see the order marked in dark color. Additionally, a worker in another hall/operation can see the stage of the previous operation and how many items have been completed (e.g., they cannot proceed to the first item from Cutting to start Folding):

This operation has a white background, indicating that it is our first operation. The next production task is marked with a dark background and is waiting for the first operation to be completed. When a worker finishes their work on a given machine, they need to click on their production task, enter their PIN code or RFID card, and record the number of pieces completed. The second operation will then receive a white background (indicating that the previous operation has been completed).

🤓 IMPORTANT: A worker can start an operation whose predecessor has not finished yet, but it will be shown with a dark background and a flashing completion sign and the assigned worker.

How to Set Predecessor Operations?

The predecessor view can be turned on and off at any time – even in the off view, the default order of execution is saved with each new planned product with completed technology. You can manually set predecessor operations.

This is useful when you want all tasks (all production orders) to be performed on a specific machine and then start production tasks on another machine. In this case, you need to edit the specific production task, and then you will see the option to manually set the predecessor.

You can set an operation from another product as a predecessor (when you want to group them by tools). The predecessor can be any order on the production schedule.

The predecessor view is enabled/disabled in the sidebar or in the main program settings.

 What is worth seeing?

You can customize your tiles (normal and pending) by clicking the adjustbutton on the production schedule and then Customize, as shown on the screen below:
