In this guide, you'll learn geolocation and how to use it in Prodio.

Where Can I Find It?

Access to geolocation settings is available when editing or adding a shop floor view in the Settings tab, then under Shop floor views.

How Does It Work?

We offer several options related to geolocation when adding or editing a panel:

  • Enable/disable geolocation for the panel: Allows you to decide whether the location should be registered when an employee checks in at this panel.

  • Set default geolocation coordinates: Instead of displaying just coordinates, the system can show the panel's name if an employee checks in at its location

  • Show location on the timeline in the workers view: Enables workers to display their location on a map from the shop floor.

When geolocation is active for a panel, an icon of geolocation will appear next to the information on the timeline when employees check in or start working on an assignment. Clicking on it opens a map with the location.

What does it look like in practice?

  • In the work history and time registration, the geolocation column will show the coordinates of the check-in location.

Clicking on the geolocation data will open a preview with a map and a route between the START and STOP points of work.

Requirements: Consent to access location: For the function to work, the browser must have permission to access the location.

1. Verification of workers attendance: Ability to check if workers are checking into work at the proper place (e.g., at the company, not at home).
2. Monitoring of assembly teams' work: Ability to track the work of teams outside the company, verifying the place of start and end of work.
3. Reliability of work data: Checking if work at the client's place started and ended at the same location ensures data accuracy.
