See how to use barcodes to track work time on the shop floor and for individual tasks.

If you have a large number of manufacturing tasks on your production schedule and want to make it easier for your employees to record their work, you can use a barcode scanner for this purpose.

If you prefer key fobs and RFID readers, you can use those solutions as well—having both readers connected to the computer at the same time.

You can even have one production floor where everything is recorded using barcode scanners, and another where only key fobs are used.

Everything works exactly the same as when using key fobs or RFID cards—except that instead of tapping a fob to the reader, here you scan the barcode from the employee's card, and the details of the specific order appear on the device connected to the reader.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Check the production schedule to ensure the scanner icon is visible and glowing green—if it is, the application is ready to scan the barcode.

Next, scan the task barcode from the previously printed production guide;

After scanning the barcode, a screen with the details of the manufacturing task will appear

To start the manufacturing task, scan the key fob or barcode assigned to the employee, and the operation will begin automatically.

Operation will begin automatically.

Clocking-out from manufacturing task works in the same way.

How to Record Clock-ins and Clock-outs Using Barcodes

Everything works exactly the same as when using key fobs or RFID cards—except that instead of tapping a fob to the reader, here you scan the barcode from the employee's card.

On the employee panel, click the green button if you want to clock in or the red button if you want to clock out.

Now scan the key fob or barcode and the work session will start/end automatically :)
